Using the Marine Traffic app on my phone, this was the ship's location at noon today.
We were headed to Cozumel, an island off Playa del Carmen (in the lower right-hand corner). Seas were calm, sky was blue, temperature was in the mid-80's. The ship was only making about 10 knots because of the modest distance it had to travel.

Although the horizon was often clear of any other vessel, the image shows how much ship traffic transits this part of the Caribbean. Each color represents a different type of vessel. For example, red designates an oil tanker.
