Miami, Florida (Friday, February 09)

Yesterday (February 08), after an uneventful trip down, we checked into the Miami Marriott Key Biscayne Hotel.  The hotel was a bit dated, but the staff was friendly and everything was clean.  Our room was on the 25th floor with a nice view of Biscayne Bay and South Beach in the distance. 

Today we had a late breakfast. We went shopping to load up on some items we want for the ship that were easier to buy here than carry in our luggage on the plane. Later we wandered around enjoying balmy, albeit a bit humid, weather.  

For dinner, we took a taxi through Friday evening rush hour traffic to join family at Son Cubano Miami in Coral Gables.  We had hoped to have even more family at the get-together, but they had to cancel due to illness. What a fun dinner with good food accompanied by lots of chatting and laughter.  After good-byes, Pam & I walked over to Miracle Mile, then along it. We did some sightseeing while enjoying an ice cream cone, then took an Uber back to our hotel.

It was a great evening; a thoroughly enjoyable end to our first full day of vacation.
